Hot Weather Sheep Sighting

I had limited up close access to sheep in Costa Rica. Only at a petting "zoo" located at INBIO Park in San Jose was I able to view this example of  a tropical breed, which I think is the Pelibuey, mentioned in an earlier post. I can't be sure but they look somewhat similar. As you can see, there was multi-species co-habitation going on here. I manged to sneak a sample of the fleece home with me, provided by the generous sheep "molting" in the photos. Considering the warm temps there, I don't think it is missed.

Sheep in Costa Rica

A few days ago we visited an educational center in the capital city of San Jose called INBio. There was a petting zoo, and I got some sheep time. The three here are actually of me with little kids . . . they are very inquisitive usually and like to nibble on hair and clothing, which they did to my great pleasure. More images will follow.

Introducing the absolutely amazing Sheep Frog . . .

No, it is not a version of "Leap Frog" but an actual amphibian . . . my worlds are colliding! Wonder if I will see one in Costa Rica? What am I saying? I MUST see one. I WILL see one. (Are they poisonous?!)
